State of Race Memo

As many know, fundraising is always an early indicator of a candidate’s viability, and as you will see below, Commissioner Daniella has now raised over $1.3 million in four months! This is truly remarkable and a true testament to the broad support she continues to receive as she campaigns to make history in Miami-Dade. The memo below outlines key metrics we’ve reached and shows why so many are excited and supporting this history-making movement as we work harder than ever to elect a true champion as our next Miami-Dade County Mayor.

Over the last four months, the campaign has received growing levels of support, and we have surpassed our early fundraising benchmarks due to the broad coalition of supporters who are excited about Daniella Levine Cava’s campaign to be our next Mayor! Our campaign now has close to 1,300 donors with half of them donating less than $100.

One of the first decisions Daniella made when she filed to run for Mayor was to embark on a journey to be the first candidate to qualify by petition. This shows that it’s the people of Miami-Dade who have banded together to put Daniella’s name on the ballot, To reach this important moment, we need to collect 18,000 petitions. As the summer months started, we set an ambitious goal to collect 3,000. The good news is we shattered that goal and did so one month early. Now we have set a new goal of 5,000 petitions by Sept. 30th and with your help, I know we will get there!

Since the start of the campaign, Daniella has been in every corner of Miami-Dade County. We have hosted a series of Days of Action, from Miami Gardens down to Cutler Bay and everywhere in between. We’ve had over 100 volunteers participate during these days of action, and our campaign now has over 2,000 volunteers engaged in helping elect Daniella as our next Mayor. More impressive is the fact Daniella has participated in and attended over 100 events since the campaign launched in April.

Our campaign was excited to debut our first TV ad during the summer Democratic presidential debates that aired on NBC in June and CNN in July. In case you missed it, you can click on the image below to see the ad, along with coverage of the TV ad.

Daniella Levine Cava releases first TV ad in advance of Democratic debate:

As you can see, the campaign has kicked into high gear early, and we are ready for the coming months as we grow our support and build on this early momentum. I know that together, we will reach a history-making moment next year when Miami-Dade elect’s a visionary, and its first female Mayor!
